OWL CREEK FARM
Changes, wonderful changes, are coming to Owl Creek Farm. We feel deep satisfaction in being the home of Mountain Harvest Farm, LLC, for the past several years. We have seen the productive, cultivated fields burgeoning with healthy organic vegetables. Community events taking place here. Educational tours.
Two more changes are coming. The fields, streams, ponds, and forests will be put into a trust to protect the watershed, keep hillsides forested, keep plant and animal diversity. Expect to hear more about this as details are developed. And even how you could be a part of it.
The other change is that Owl Creek Farm will be opening up a few choice housing sites. Families choosing to live here will be able to share the delights of the entire farm, hiking and cross-country ski trails, ponds for fishing and water play, gardening space, cooperative ventures, possibly a clubhouse/party house/education center. Environmental protection will be front and center.
The much-loved strawberries and raspberries are a thing of the past. But the farm continues to do its thing under the summer sun.
The biggest success of the farm now, of course, is Mountain Harvest Farm, LLC, that produces organically grown vegetables in great quantity and quality for their CSA customers and for the Morgantown Farmer’s Market (8:30-12:00 Saturday mornings).
Now available--fresh, unsprayed rye straw at $7.00 per small bale.
